Meet Your Pharmacist

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Dr. Ginny Crisp specializes in providing self-funded employer health plans with actionable insight into the plan's prescription benefit performance.  She comes with more than 9 years experience working with employers to identify cost-savings strategies while maintaining member access to clinically important drug therapies.

In her prior experience, Dr. Crisp served as the Clinical Pharmacy Manager at UNC Health Care System and was directly responsible (in coordination with the Human Resources Department) for the oversight of the health system's self-funded prescription benefit.  During this time, she assisted the health plan with >$2M in annual prescription savings as well as the implementation of clinical pharmacy services for the highest risk employee population. This clinical program resulted in a 40% reduction in per member per month Rx spend for enrolled members.

Additionally, Dr. Crisp directed the Pharmacy Assistance Program which provided a pharmacy benefit to uninsured residents of North Carolina.  In this role, she created a formulary, implemented a tiered formulary structure which included both step therapy and prior authorization programs, and launched clinical programs for the highest risk participants of the Rx benefit.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

Dr. Crisp obtained her PharmD at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 2009 and then completed a PGY1 Ambulatory Care Residency at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center (2010) and a PGY2 Geriatrics Specialty Residency at UNC Hospitals & Clinics (2011).  In 2012, Dr. Crisp became board certified in ambulatory care pharmacy.
