Why we only audit PBMs
Ginny Crisp trained as a clinical pharmacist: a PharmD from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, then two years of residency in ambulatory care and geriatrics. Her early career was spent in clinic at UNC Health, working with uninsured patients for whom the price of a drug decided whether treatment happened at all.
What she learned there is the premise of this firm: the price was never a clinical fact. It was a contract term. The contracts that set what a plan pays for a drug are written by PBMs, and they are written to be unreadable. Prescription Benefit Solutions exists to read them back to the employers paying the bill.
We do not take PBM money, rebate overrides, or spread. Our only incentive is the plan sponsor's. That independence is the entire product.
