RESULTS

The numbers from a year of independent PBM review

Prescription Benefit Solutions is an independent pharmacy benefits consultancy. We take no money from PBMs. Our clients are the only ones who pay us, and the results below are why they come back. Here is what 2025 looked like, from our verified engagement records.

$78.7M

savings contracted for clients in 2025

706

client engagements completed

203

unique self-funded employer clients

25%

savings rate on PBM RFPs

All figures are from 2025 engagement records. Savings are contracted amounts, agreed in writing with the plan's vendors, not projections or identified opportunities.

Where the results come from

Pharmacy savings do not come from one trick. They come from reading the contract, auditing the claims, and making the market compete. Each service line did a different job in 2025:

Pharmacy Benefit Reviews

$469K

average savings per client · 132 engagements · 93 clients

The full review: contract, claims, pricing, and rebates, read together. An average finding of 18.7% of pharmacy spend.

PBM RFPs

$562K

average savings per client · 59 engagements · 51 clients

When the market competes for a plan's business on terms we write, the savings rate across those engagements was 25%.

Contract Reviews

$169K

average savings per client · 86 engagements · 82 clients

The focused read before a signature: definitions, guarantees, and audit rights, corrected while there is still leverage.

The remaining 429 engagements were the ongoing work between the headline projects, the reviews, audits, and questions clients send us through the year.

What clients say

ON WORKING WITH PRESCRIPTION BENEFIT SOLUTIONS

"Ginny shared valuable insights and advice that I would otherwise not have had the opportunity to acquire. She was honest, accurate, and effective and I believe that she and her team would be an invaluable asset to any self-funded plan looking to understand and leverage their current contract/vendor."

-Benefits leader, self-funded employer, 8,000+ employees

How findings are documented

Every engagement ends in writing. A plan sponsor should never have to reconstruct what was reviewed, what was found, or what was decided:

1. A findings report the plan owns: what we examined, what we found, and what each finding is worth.

2. The contract language behind each finding, quoted, so the issue can be verified against the source.

3. Recommendations in priority order, with the negotiating path for each.

4. Documentation of the review itself, so the plan's decision process is on record.

Our compensation is disclosed in writing before work begins, and we accept nothing from PBMs or vendors. The complete standard we hold ourselves to is published at The Standards for Independent PBM Review.
